How can i explain this.

A users has completed a model and drawing in solidworks. Someones else is trying to open the same drawing on their computerhowever there not getting the lastest version. When they open the file there getting the old version that wassave not the new version.

Does anyone have ideas.

When you say version, areyou referring to the drawing/part revision, not the version of the software they are using (2006 SP5.0 vs. 2007 SP2.2)?

How is the model/drawing being transferred to the second computer? Does the first user check it in to PDMW (or other PDM software) then the second user check it out?

If youareusing check-in/check-out, be sure you you have "latest revision" checked, not "as built." I don't know how this would apply to a single drawing/part-maybe you have an assembly?

That is correct. We also keep a versions of the file. When a revision is made its a new version within conisio.

A user made a revision or changes inthe assemblyand drawing so its a new version. However, another user wants to open the same assemblyand drawing on their computer they are getting the old version of theassembly and drawing.

We are upgrading to PDMW soon but we use conisio right now .There is a " get latest version button when getting the drawing within conisio" however that doesn't do the job.

Check that you are modifying the correct configuration. Perhaps the assembly modelmodification is being made to a configuration not shown in the drawing.
