noob design

hey all! first time posting here!. I am not a complete noob with solidworks, i can follow along with most online tutorials.. even the ones with no voice!
I am trying to draft/draw out a design that came to mind. It seemed simple enough, untill it was time to sit down and draft it out. can't seem to get a grip on how to do it..I hope the following pictures is worth a thousand words.

The design seems simple, but what are the colored lines? Will this be some kind of lofted solid or could you use the revolve feature?
