im looking for a non-welded solution for concentrated load reinforcing on a bar joist. Does anyone have any options?

I see quickframe makes something but wondered if anyone had any other solutions.

I suppose it depends on the size of the joist and magnitude of the load. For really light stuff you may be able to get some screws to work. Unless it's a joist girder there isn't going to be enough 'meat' to get bolts in there.

Whatever you do you'll be in relatively uncharted territory. Tread carefully.

Chicago clamp company makes some all bolted systems for this type of work. This one does kindof what you're looking for. It's not the traditional reinforcing detail where a vertical angle gets installed. Instead, it (claims to) reinforces/supplements the bottom chord where your point load is applied and tries to bypass the load to the nearest panel points.

At one of my previous firm I saw a design utilize threaded rods in the gap between the joists top chord's angles as a connecting element between the top chord and a reinforcing element. To my recollection the primary purpose of the reinforcing element was to span between the panel points and prevent the top chord from bending due to a concentrated load.
