Hi,

The current company I'm working at is using the property, Non-Geometric as a form of hiding parent components that have been Wave Linked.
I'm used to only seeing Non-Geometric used for things like adhesives and other ways to hide the parent of Wave Linked bodies.

Q: Is there any reason to suggest that we shouldn't be using Non-Geometric for this purpose?

Typical methods I've seen, for not showing the original components after their bodies have been wave linked are:

- Omit component(s) from the displayed part Reference Sets -> move them to a separate layer (maybe called Original Components or Linked Parents) -> turn layer off

- Replace the the sub-component(s) Reference Set to Empty (this works okay if everyone is using 'As Saved' Reference Sets in their load options, which is why the first step should still be to omit the parent component from the displayed Reference Sets.

- Suppress the parent component(s) (with the understanding that the link bodies won't update with the latest changes to the parent component unless they are un-suppressed)

From your use of the terms "wave links" and "reference sets", I'm guessing that you are using NX. You might have a better response to your questions in the NX forum on this site.

Whoops, wrong forum... My apologies
