Do you know factories as Carrier, Trane, York, etc, manufacturing split equipment working with refrigerant different to R-22, R-12 or any CFC , in nominal capacities from 3.00 to 15.00 TR?
You can also specify R-407C which is a drop-in replacement for R-22. All the major companies offer it. One warning though, there is an efficiency penalty to pay. An R-407C system will be less efficient that an identical R-22 system.
I know Carrier makes split systems with R410A - they call it Puron. Check the following website. Am sure others also must be making similar units. You can check their websites.
One note, no one in the US makes equipment with R12 anymore, it was phased out years ago. New equipment is R22, R134a, and others that were mentioned above.
