My employer has asked me to design a piece of software capable of calculating noise (in decibels) in orifice flow meters. I have noticed a few companies have comprised programs that evaluate a value of noise in throttling valves. Obviously initial pressure drops when a valve is opened cause cavitation to occur and is the main culprit of noise on both systems. I was wondering if anyone has tackled this problem previously and has any suggestions so i may moved forward in my work. Thanks
