Hello Everyone,
I am a senior engineer of production facility which is into converting shipping containers as beautiful living spaces. I have a production facility close to a temple. Since i import off shored containers, there are some dents on those which has to be hammered to rectify them.
However, due to the heavy noise when hammering, people around the facility are a bit worried. These container panels are 2mm thick and has sharp dents so i can't use conventional car dent pullers for this. is there a noise free solution for me? Thanks

Let's assume you want to use conventional hand-held hammer method. The shipping container would have to be placed inside a building/shed that serves as an acoustical enclosure. The walls and roof would have high Transmission Loss. The interior ceiling and walls would have high Absorption Coefficient to reduce reverberation and interior noise. The air exchange/conditioning would have silencers. The container would be supported off of the floor with vibration isolators (spring or rubber elements); perhaps old tires to reduce transmitted vibrations through building structure and into ground. Note that a barrier wall(s) may suffice instead of a full enclosure, depending on location and arrangement.
I could also envision a custom-made quiet hydraulic dent removal method. Perhaps you could consider relocating the dent removal operation to another location that is less noise sensitive.

Thanks for your response. Rather than changing the surrounding which is very expensive, i was just thinking of a quiet hydraulic or pneumatic tool for this operation. Or even a nano-carbon strengthened mini hammer so that noise will minimal at contact.

Relocating this operation to another place is not an option because it effects our production process.

Thanks for your suggestions btw
