No Spring components in Toolbox??

Are there no springs in the toolbox add-in? I can't seem to find any spring components in the browser.... is that a component you have to add in on you're own???

Do a Keyword Search (see tab at top of this page) for spring or springs. There is loads of information & links shown in the threads that the search will list.

The only spring like component in Toolbox is a spring lock washer in some of the metric standards.
If you don't need to show the full helix sweep but want something that adjusts to assembly spacing or what have you, try the following trick.
Create your incontext part starting with a sketch of just a construction line and a dimension, where the endpoints of the line are coincident to your assembly points. Hide that sketch and make another that is a simple circle of your spring OD. Make a thin extrude to get your spring and add a cosmetic thread to the resulting hollow cylinder. In 2004 the cosmetic threads come with shaded bitmap that could just as well indicate spring coils. Put a fillet on the ends if you really want a finished look.
As a last step link the extrusion length value to the dimension of your construction line.
Now you have a hollow cylinder with stipes, which in various assembly views will look like a spring, and adjusts it's length to fit the spacing. Using the thin extrude and the thread image allows it rebuild much faster than any swept solid approach.

Go to SW model library at their site. If go under parts you will find Springs. You can download just about any kind of spring. Plus you can take the file apart and check out how it was built.

Thanks to all for the recommendations...... the site Frogsaregreen mentioned offers a software program that lets the user create springs. Seems pretty good. Anyone have any experience with using it??
