no more control box allowed

Using Excel 2000 , I was able to make control boxes, those slide rules used to change a cell value.
But with not known cause I can not run my previous made boxes, and even I can not insert a new one.
Clicking on Tools - >Controlboxes the tool bar appears but when trying to insert a new one a warnig box appears tellin tha that OBJECT can not be import.
I do not know what was lost.
