No Load Mechanical Running Test (NLMRT) for STG

Hi Guys,

Anyone got any previous experiences pertaining to the no load mechanical running test for the STG?

Is it a common practice not to carry out the NLMRT for the STG (Steam Turbine Generator) as part of the purchase requirement?

depends on the size of the unit.
some units are sent in pieces and assembled on site, e.g. units above 100MW.
it is obviously impossible to test at the shop units that have all welded construction, i.e. no flanges at the main connections.
