Dear Experts,
I was looking for standard at NFPA about when to use Wet Alarm Valve and Riser Check Valve.
When we need to use Wet Alarm Valve and when we can use Riser Check Valve and we can use none of them.

Thanks.

Riser check valve provide a more compact and economical alternative to an alarm check valve where a “water motor alarm” is not required. Approved water flow switch must be used for local alarm via fire alarm system.

Dear SV879,
What is rule about requirements "water motor alarm". When I need to installed water motor alarm?

Thanks.

See NFPA13/ed16 par. 6.8.2 for the requirements of alarm check valves and the necessity to provide waterflow detection.

See also 6.8.3 for additional attachments regarding waterflow alarms.

Always check with the property insurance carrier loss prevention/engineering department for what they may require.
