Hi everyone, has anyone here earned any NFPA certifications? They have some for fire protection, electrical safety, wildfire, and water-based systems. If you have any, what value did they provide? Thanks!

My niche is fire sprinkler system design. I obtained the CFPS and CWBSP. For what I do - fire sprinkler system design - those certifications didn't add any noticeable value. The NICET Level IV I have in fire sprinkler layout has been much more valuable. It will depend on what part of the industry you will be working. The CFPS carries more weight in the insurance and industrial areas.

Dan,

As Travis said..

I was a CFPS with and insurance company before I retired. The CFPS was required for any advancement in the fire protection insurance field. My certificate number was in the low 200’s. The actual CFPS test on paper fill it out, send it in, wait a few months to know the results…yea I am old…lol.
