I have been out of the a/c and refrigeration loop for several years, but I have found myself back in it. I had been an electrical inspector for a number of years and focusing on that. I would be happy with generalities, but specifics are nice. If anyone knows of good books or mags on the subject, please let me know. I have heard of 134a of course, but know there are several more out there now. Then there is the polyester oil? I am curious about window units, residential central, walkin and chest type refrigerators and freezers, etc. Thanks!

There are several different sites you can get info from on this. I have found that R408 and FR-12 or R416 work best in the largest of uses due to the fact they are usable with all oil types. This makes a change over expense lower. The site s below will help.
