Hi, is it problematic to extend a new RC bearing seat over a bearing wall (bellow) on a existing rc slab?
I know slabs are usually not problematic for shear, but this one is only 120 mm thick. It is however supported along the whole lenght/edge.
Bearing seat is 300 x 300 mm and 380 mm high. Designed concentrated load (reaction from steel beam) is around 100 kN. New bearing seat will be anchored to the existing RC parapet.
50 mm difference between an edge of a wall bellow and a bearing seat shouldnt be a problem right?
But I wouldnt go any further on the slab. Any advice? opinion?
