The new function implemented in NX8.5 doesn't give the same result. Have a look at this post: thread561-341252

I'm always looking for the opportunity to launch the old function Global Shaping by surface (NX7.5) in NX8.5 or NX9

Is there any special environment variable to do this ?

Thanks in advance

Didier,
IF you make the control surface large enough in BOTH 7.5 and 8.5, can you find any difference between the resulting bodies ?
The simple test i made on the model you supplied gave me results which i think is identical.

If the result is identical, the need for the 7.5 code isn't that critical?

simple solution in Nx8.5 and above,
make the base and control face:
1. larger than the model to deform in this case
2. make them equal size / there is something like scaling control
hope it helps

Hi,

I know that it's better to have the surface larger than the model and this works fine with NX8.5. the result is the same

But I have opened this call for one customer who use this method for many years. In NX7.5, with a smaller surface, the global shaping is able to interpolate the surface but not in NX8.5

I suspect that to some users this 'interpolation' was seen as being undesirable.
