Sep 11, 2009 #3 rbulsara Electrical Aug 19, 2003 4,242 To add to what alehman said, a 4 pole, open transition switch will/can also have an overlapping neutral switching so as not to leave system neutral disconnected (and hence maintain grounding too) at any time.
