I am designing a Gas Canopy. The metal fascia system around the top is considered a parapet and the structure is open. What design criteria is followed here and what occupancy category should be used, II or III?

Assuming you are in the US and referring to ASCE 7, for this application I would (and have) use an "open structure", Cat II.

Thanks Ron. I am not an engineer but I have been working with one for some time. I need to understand how wind pressure is applied to the fascia. Currently, we use this formula - Pp = qpGCpn. ASCE 7-05. or is there another Formula I should be using. This is the lateral point load, Correct?

Thanks Ron. I am not an engineer but I have been working with one for some time. I need to understand how wind pressure is applied to the fascia. Currently, we use this formula - Pp = qpGCpn. ASCE 7-05. ie... 85mph = 9.7 x 1.5 + 10.8 x 1 = 25.3psf on the fascia. So, the lateral point load = W x h x 25.3/#columns?
