Hello,
I have heard that running Net Beui on a lan may cause conflicts. We are expirencing packet loss on the way to the router (LAN Network with simple switch router) and wonder if the Net Beui setting may be to blame. Any one have any ideas?

NetBEUI is a non routable protocol, if you have a router, there shouldn't be a problem beyond the router.
You don't say how or where the packet loss was measured, but yes, NetBEUI is a very chatty protocol, and is a prime source of uneeded administartive traffic on a LAN.
It's simple to get rid of it, if your naming service is properly configured.

Thanks for the advice. Using tellnet and the ping comand we found one bad switch and the router was going bad. We replaced both and everything works great. Thanks once again.
