What are some of the factors that determines the strength/load of a needle bearing?

Factors such as number of rollers, diameter of rollers, diameter of inner race and outer race.

Does the strength increase with the number of rollers? or the diameter of the rollers? or both.

Thanks

The strength varies by the number of rolling
elements, the bearing mean diameter, the depth
of case, the hardness of the raceways,
the length of the rollers and by the square of the
roller or ball diameter.

Full complement needle bearings have higher load ratings and lower speed ratings than the same sized caged needle bearings. Often times one type will be carelessly substituted for the other and this can create many future problems.

With most rolling element bearings, you generally get better life with a smaller number of larger rolling elements, assuming the same pitch diameter. Of course, in practice things also depend on the exact geometry and space available etc, so the pitch diameter may not be an independent variable. On the other hand, you lose out on stiffness and speed capability with a smaller number of larger elements.
