I would be most grateful if someone could provide some direction to where i can get information and basic concept ideas into the mechanics of a simple retractable fall arrest or lifeline system. Basically its a system used by rock climbers, window cleaners and anyone working at heights where there is a possibilty of them falling from distance. I have tried numerous sites but those simply provide me with product information and not the general concept ideas. Diagrams would be most helpful.
Again Thankyou

You might want to do a search for patents that cover "fall arrest systems" and other such terms.

A patent search will enable you to gather the information you are looking for, and ensures that you will not intrude on another's patented idea/system. "The attempt and not the deed confounds us."
