I need to mount a #10 straight thread AN O-Ring fitting into a wall. The threads are no problem (standard) but I need the dimensions for the O-Ring seating area. These fittings don't have a pocket for the O-Ring. The fitting face is just flat and the mating surface is supposed to have the pocket.
Anybody have this information?

Thanks,
Kevin Jackson

The Parker O-Ring handbook has a chart for all sizes.

If you mean the chamfer the o-ring fits down into, any std hydr reference book (Lightning Handbook, Parker books, etc) should have the SAE or AN port machining dimensions. Possibly a Machinery Handbook might have them.

Thanks for the response. I tried to download a copy of the Parker O-Ring handbook but they seem to have a lot of dead links on the site. I did find the information in a Parker marine fittings book. Parker also sells tools that cut the profile quickly and easily.

Thanks Again, Problem Solved,

Kevin

P.S. I need a -5 AN Straight Thread O-Ring Male Plug, if anybody can suggest a source please do.

I don't know what fitting you are using, but some AN fittings are locked with an AN 6289 bulkhead nut. This nut has a relieve for an O ring, and using that nut there is no need to cut pocket.

Won't work in this application but sounds cool. I have another application that the part would be great for.
Thanks,
Kevin
