Seriously, why does it even show up there. I tried all the options for BOM on the Tools>Options but when i make a new BOM the Default still shows up.

Intel Core 2 Duo CPU
2.2GHz, 2.00GB RAM
QuadroFX 3700
SpacePilot/SpaceNavigator

just tried that but im still getting the configuration name as soon as i insert the new bom.

Are you re-saving the template (or creating a new one) after applying the suggested option?

BOM template?

no im not doing anything with it. the webpage linked doesnt say anything about messing with the template.

Just had the same thing happen and cannot fix it as well. Other drawings from same format/template do not display config name before QTY in BOM??
Anyone?

Check the configuration info of the part in the assembly file. I have put the part info under a configuration (configuration specific tab under properties) by accident instead of the custom tab before. When you reference the part with that configuration the information on the configuration is grabbed.

No that's not it.

In your BOM, go to the QTY column and change the title from Default/QTY. to QTY

Notice that there should be no period after the QTY

Resave your BOM template.

Under tools/options/document properties/detailing/tables

check the box "restrict top level only boms to one configuration"

then make sure you're only using a top level only bom.

viola it's fixed.

The Restrict top level only BOMs to one configuration option is the only one that works for me; the method described at the link in my first post doesn't. (My apologies for not checking first)

See for the correct info on BOM options and templates.

The config name will only appear if more than one config exists, or if the Default has been renamed ... in which case Default/QTY. will be shown ... go figure!
