. I am doing a storm damage assessment and have found a 2X4 truss impaled through the bottom of an inground swimming pool 15 inches. I know the depth and salinity of the water but need to know how to calculate what the drag would be. The wood is a very dry 2X4 and entered the water at a 48º angle then impaled itself through the bottom. The pool was full at the time, the depth is 84 inches and there is a second piece of wood attached at a right angle to the one that went through the pool.
My biggest problem is knowing where to look for data and formulae. I am a computer freak and a storm chaser in Ontario Canada but I have no experience in this area and would appreciate some guidance. Thanks
