Need some help with inclined elevator platform application

Hello,
I'm reviewing a project for an inclined platform for moving people. I was hoping that someone could point me in the direction of either relevant codes for controls, or a book on design of an inclined elevator system.

Other than the NEC article for special purpose elevators (I believe this is the proper category), I have found no other specific codes. I did a search for IEEE + Elevators and found nothing.
