need locking knob mechanism for a aluminium profile 1

Hello,

I have a aluminium extrusion profile 30 x 30. I need to slide the mdf board on to aluminium extrusion using profile sliders and lock the board to some height.
Currently board is clamped with aknob. Any idea how to use the knob for locking the board to certain height into extrusion.
Below is the snap shot.

Did you know that you can directly embed images using the "upload image" tool?

This is a Bosch or 80/20 or similar extrusion designed to take T nuts?

Use a T nut and clamp down on something that is attached to the board.

Hello,
As mentioned in above email Iam already using t slotted profile slider which is holding the board to slide over the P30x30 fath aluminium extrusion.
If at all I have to use the t slot nut to lock the knob at certain height. how to lock it. In the image the knob is fastened through the board using a jam nut.
A hole is drilled into the P 30x30 extrusion so that the knob shaft can sit into the hole to lock at certain height. when I have to slide it I need to ulock knob by rotating during that time jam nut and board are getting loosened. So exactly looking for an idea where the board can be held firm without getting loosened during unlocking or sliding.

You can drill holes in the profile - at the bottom of the T slot, then use a spring loaded retractable pin that can index on those holes. Depending on what size profile you are using, you can have a pin up to Ø1/4". Just be aware of bending loads on the pin depending on how much your door weighs.

Check out McMaster Carr or Carr Lane for spring loaded pins.

Perhaps you need to explain what you mean by lock? Do you mean stay in place under friction only, or not move, short of breaking something?

If the latter, to what positional resolution do you need?
