We have a GE M-90 Register being used on a VM-65-S meter to monitor power usage in our Lithium Carbonate mill (4160V power and it is transformed down to 480V for the meter/register). Our billing personnel are taking the numbers from this meter and multiplying them by 288 to get a cumulative Kwh for each month. According to the M-90 Register info, a multiplier doesn't appear to be necessary as it should record Kwh directly along with max KW demand, cumulative KW demand, etc. When asked what this multiplier refers to, no one could come up with an answer. The meter/register is also showing red lights - but nothing in the M-90 refers to warning lights and we haven't been able to find out any information on the meter itself. Is anyone familiar with this type of equipment and do you have any idea what the conversion number and red lights refer to???
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide! Sherry

The dial multiplier is equal to the reading times the transformer factor, which comprises the potential transformer ratio times the current transformer ratio. The 288 multiplier figure would be for the potential transformers going from 288 volts to 120volts, for you have a 480/277 volt circuit. You need to find the three current transformers and read their ratio. The Kh or watt/hour constant for this meter is 1.8.
Dial multiplier = 1.8xregister ratiox50xtransformer factor/10000. Hope this helps.

Oh I forgot about the lights. There should be three of them lit, and that is a good thing, for it tells you have all three phases of power coming in.
