Our small product design firm is considering a Microscribe or used Faro/Romer arm. I'd like to be able to have a physical part in front of me and build it in SW using the arm to take points. There seem to be 5-6 different software suppliers on the SW gold partners list that offer something like this. I have a good idea of the cost of the arms ($5-10k+ for the used Faro/Romer, and $4-6k for the new Microscribe), but I don't have a clue about what software will cost me.

I'm hoping some forum members have some experience with this kind of scanning and could steer me towards the best combination of arm/software. Cost is paramount, and accuracy is secondary.

Thanks,

Brian
