I have a motor for a stair climbing dolly I need for heavy equipment, the wiring needed to be replaced and I'm failing at wiring this properly to the rocker switch. The switch has 6 terminals, the corners are cross connected.

Will try direct connection to the brushes as soon as I get home!

Direction connection to motor, not brushes. Armature and field in series. Power to the other 2 leads.

Ok, back home and ready to try anything. When you say connect directly to the motor I'm not sure what you're meaning.
