I have a good one and a broken one. The attached motor shorted and broke the 0850. I have a dvm. Neither fuse in the FPM blew, but the shop 20a breaker tripped. Two parallel 0.33 ohm resisters were opened, so I replaced them, but that did not fix it. I have looked high and low and cant find a schematic. Bodine is absolutely No help.

Tks,

Check all supply voltages. Opamps are hopefully identified and then you know where to look for +15/12 and -15/12 V. If there, proceed to synk voltages. You need a scope there. Also, check supply for gating unit. Anything between 12 and 30 V DC. Look around gating transformers and transistors.

If everything in order, disconnect load and put a load bank intead. Use incandescent lamps in series and parallel to have a load that represents at least one or twp percent of the rated load.

Check out function of gating unit. There is usually a removable link between current controller and gating unit, remove it and put a control voltage +/-10 V on the gating unit's input. Vary control voltage and see if lamps go from dark to bright. If they do, your gating is probably OK. If you see any flicker in the light, one gating pulse or one thyristor may be faulty.

This is getting a littke bit boring. And you still havent checked current controller and speed controller. There must be someone around that can help you. I could pop in and do it, but Sweden is a bit far away.

supply 115vac in is fine. DC 0 to 130 out is at zero. The two open resisters are the last components before the output terminal.

These resistors are shunt resistors for DC current actual value. If they opened, it is probable that the current controller was hurt also.

I attach what I can find for that device. It is the installation manual and it contains a section on fault-finding. Next step is to buy a new unit.

tks, I have that and already did the troubleshooting section. I should have said.

New device then...

that's what someone said about my AC honeywell control after it was hit by lighting, but after 4 months I had it fixed for 10% the cost of a new one. That's what they said about the flat screen monitor I found in the garbage, but after...

You did the checks I tipped about? Opamp supply voltages? Reaction to current controller's output signal? Outcome?
