I designed storm drain system in civil 3d and I want to calculate hgl and egl by hand. Does anyone have a good resource I can read our watch that goes step by step on how to calculate these by hand. I am still insure about how standard step method works, and why we need it to calculate hgl.

If you still have your fluid mechanics text book, it probably has a good explanation.

We didn't use textbooks when I was in college. I was hoping someone on here had a website that had hgl calculations done by hand.

Sorry, my gray hair is showing again. A quick google search offers several options.

Didn’t use textbooks???
Oh my, that explains a lot of the questions on this forum.

Thank you TerryScan and 1503-44 for the resources!
