Need explanation about post- tension concrete

Hi every one;
I actually need conceptual explanation about post tension concrete. i study that first we use cable which pull up through machine until eliminate the stresses which developed in the cable and than pour concrete on form.
Here what mean by pulling and what is advantage of this kind of concrete. if someone clarify me that will be much appreciated.

Post-tensioned means you tension the strands after the concrete has cured.

Definitely a trivial question but let me put it more intuitively. Normal RCC is when you take the load passively i.e. the load bearing members (columns, beams and slabs) only play their role when load is being applied on them (surely besides dead load). Post tensioned concrete is active load bearing technique i.e. there is always a FORCE present in concrete applied due to the tensioning of tendons (combination of steel strands).
