Need advices to choose a book 2

Hello All,

I am a newbie in SolidWorks and need to find a book that show me how to use/take advantage of the software.

Any recommandation are welcome.

You won't find anything more valuable than the SW Help files. If your subscription is up to date, you might want to download the SolidWorks Reference Guide...

This can be found under Service>Support on the SW website.

I agree with MadMango. Most of the so called "expert" books on how to use SW (or most other CAD programs) seem to have been written by people with a particular bias on how they use the software and how you "should" do things. I have yet to find an unbiased one. Also it seems that most of them do not know the software as thoroughly as they think they do. So they leave out large chunks of capabilities. I'm generalizing here - so don't all come back and flame me just because you or your buddy think you wrote the ultimate SW guide.

Find someting on your desk and make in SW. That's the quickest way to learn. If you can't figure out how to use a feature look in the help.

Download files from the web, take them apart and figure out how the user made it.

I too have been learning SolidWorks and have newer versions of the first three books listed by murugansubham. All of my texts are '2003'. None of the three books met my expectation of a 'perfect tutorial' or reference.

Of the three books, I found the Murray text to be of the most use, but this book in of itself is not without flaws. The Murray book, combined with the online help will help you a lot.
