we need a 3rd party dft to pdf converter, using the full version of solid edge is out of the question and the free viewers and free 2d do not have this capability. any suggestions on what to use?

Jemmerich,

I would suggest using Google to search for "PDF printer". Find one you like, install, and print your .dft documents as a PDF file from within the free SE .dft viewer.

I'm assuming here that you can print from within the viewer; I don't know this as I've never used it...

Hope this helps,

Thanks for the quick response this seems like a reasonable solution.

Yes you can print from the viewer. I've used PDF995 and it works ok, although you may need to play with the settings.
On FILE>PRINT>PRINT LAYOUT there is a quality setting which I usually set to highest definition.
If you can put up with the ad's you can have it as a free version.
