As long as you don't require a structural adhesive (1000 psi) I would suggest using an agressive waterbase. There are several on the market that will hold. Try the largest glue manufacturers for suggestions i.e. HB Fuller PD8118, V-3869 or even WB0802. 3M & Bostik as well as several others will have equivalents.
I am also trying to find a strong glue for nylon. Does anything stick or weld Nylon 6 or nylon copolymers to itself or to pvc? The problem is bonding the nylon as a monofilament to pvc tubing with good strength.
At least one goods manufacturer has solved these problems, but isn't interested in sharing any 'trade secrets'.
Their finished product indicates a clear adhesive of some kind was used and it even looks like the nylon was fused to some degree - welded? The glue joint is covered in clear tubing - appears to be pvc tubing.
aspearin1, I've tried heating this material and it's very sensitive to heat - but I thought maybe it might be some kind of heat weld, since the tubing appears it might even be pvc shrink tubing... However, some of the sample pieces I have appear to have some kind of clear glue or adhesive outside the connection/join - not a very neat job, but offers some clues I guess. The diameter of the green lookin' material on the right is close to 0.70mm and withstands a 45-50lb pull, no problem. It's a very strong, slim connection - I just don't know what method or adhesive is possibly being used.
