NEC 500 & Nonincendive Wiring 1

Is nonincendive wiring required to be separated from other circuits like IS wiring? I have seen a reference supporting that this separation is required but I cannot locate it. It very well could have been a "recommended practice" from a customer or a manufacturer.

Does anyone know of a NEC reference that supports or disproves this comment?

probably explains it very clearly.

However anything that could thru a malfunction inject more power into the "intrinsically safed" side of the wiring must be avoided. This includes a drill bit controlled by an imbecile. If you run non I.S. wiring next to I.S. wire the drill bit could interconnect them. So the same could happen with N.I. next to I.S. wires.
