I am looking for any programming aids, for the construction of software to perform Gas Distribution Design. Specifically, new residential gas distribution design. I have found numerous versions of software which could help perform this task, but I am currently looking at writing our own, based on a CAD engine. Ideally, I would like to find a C/C++ library which contains routines for the calculation of characteristics of this type of design (ie. pressure drop, friction). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think youyr heading for a major task if you want to write your own program. This type of programs are very complicated. I know of at least one program but cant remember the name. When (of) i get hold of it i will post it. But be aware that its quite expensive.

Best Regards

Try "Simulation and analysis of GAS Networks" by A. J. Osiadacz, 1987 Gulf Publishing Co. Or try bbb@b3pe.com for an engineer that has already done what you are attempting.

Good luck.

Lets hope he found out something 4 years back :)

Better late than newer!
