There was a thread requesting a definition of natural frequency which I posted in this morning. Now it's gone.

Anyone know why? Mikey?

Electricpete,

Apparently some person (with the power to delete)did not find it as humorous as I did. I enjoyed the verbal jousting and saw no disrespectful statements. So I ask the person who removed it, "why was it removed?"

I posted yesterday too. I didn't think these boards were moderated anyway. Either its a glitch in the bbs database or, as you say, someone didn't like something and emailed eng-tips asking for it to be removed.

MikeyP - They are self moderated. Any member can redflag a thread or a post. T'management then investigates and takes action, via an informal but long established process.

I've just thought of an innocent explanation - if the original poster was found to be violating forum rules in another thread all of his posts may have been removed.

Cheers

Hey ElectricPete, it's not the first thread thats gone missing. I've posted to three other threads in the past months which then mysteriously disapeared, I was beginning to think I was a jynx. although other threads I've posted to haven't disappeared. One of the threads did reappear tho' about a week later. The Mysteries of the Eng-tips Board!

I'll bet it was Edshu the trickster-god, a mythological creature whose greatest joy is spreading strife!

jheidt - I haven't heard of that Edshu. Should I have?
finnigan - Mysterious indeed!
Greg - Something tells me you are right.
