Can anyone point me to a corresponding document for ground-based mobile equipment?

In short, I'm looking for a MIL-STD for ground mobile equipment with the same or similar recommendations pertaining to the use of threaded fasteners that are contained in the NASM standard.

Did you actually look at MIL-HDBK-454 because guideline 12 covers fastener hardware such as quarter turn fastners MIL-F-5591. This is the handbook we use as a guideline when we're designing ground mobile electronic equipment.

I haven't yet, but I'll take a look at HDBK-454.

I suspect it won't be quite what I'm looking for. I'm interested in real mechanical stuff - trucks and tanks and artilliary. Not wussie electronics

Oh, when you say ground based mobile equipment I automatically think electronic equipment because in my world of ground based mobile is electronic equipment.
