Hi all,

As per API 5CRA, Casing and Tubing's are classified into following groups:

Group 1: Super 13 Martensitic
Group 2: 22% Cr or 25% duplex or super duplex
Group 3: 28% Cr Austenitic
Group 4: Alloy 825 Nickel base alloys

My client is asking for NACE TM-0177 Method A testing for above material grades.
As per my understanding, NACE TM-0177 test is not applicable for CRA's(Corrosion Resistant Alloys).

Please advise.

Thanks

hi
yes it is, testing as per NACE TM0177 can be applied to SS material as per annex B of NACE MR0175 part 3 because stainless steels can also be susceptible to damage by wet H2S cracking

If you read the details you find that some alloys need to be tested under some some conditions and not others.
It depends on what the alloy is sensitive to and what the severity of the conditions are.
