NACA duct as 'Exaust' ??

Is there any validity to the use of these submerged ducts (installed 'backwards') as vents, or exits for cooling air, such as an oil cooler? Or exhaust augmenters as these appear to be?

Not sure it's quite the same thing but managing exhaust/cooling air flow to add 'thrust' was common on WWII aircraft.

The Mustang was perhaps the most significant application of this.

Not quite sure it's exactly the same thing as this situation.

The maker of the vents Makes the comment that even he did not think they would work as designed.
There is a closed thread on here thread1-61524 which comes to somewhat the same conclusion.
