I am in desperate need of a variety of N-value and qc correlations for SPT and CPT tests. I am looking to determine values such as Cu, OCR, Dr and Phi. Please help!

For correlations between qc and N, the best document is a curve published by Robertsson, Campanella and Wightman ("SPT/CPT Correlations" Journal of Geotechnical Engineering, ASCE, vol 109 N° GT11, nov 1983 ). This gives the variation of qc/N as a function of mean grain size ( D50 )

For correlations between Dr and N see "Research on determining the density of sands by spoon penetration testing" by Gibbs and Holtz which was published in the proceedings of the 4 th ISSMFE conference, vol 1 pp 35-39, 1957.

for correlations between Dr and qc see technical report S-78-2 of US Army Waterways experiment Station by J. Schmertmann.

Cu in cohesive materials is not far from qc/15

Are these available on line?

Hey Scottie how is it going you wouldn't happen to be trying to get info for a certain Dr. Amr Sallam would you?

I have come up with a few books myself and but this is still a mission to try to find two variations for every single one. more than a homework assignment for the second week anyhow.

LOL, sure am! I have 5 different books and some on line garbage that I have to go through. I don't mind the work, but the research kills me.
