First, thank you both for your responses. I have tried this approach but it will not meet my need.
Perhaps I should further explain the scenerio. I need to manage a turnaround with a scope of >2000 tasks. The majority of the jobs will be worked 6 am - 6 pm each day, 6 days a week. Within the scope there will be a few jobs that need to be worked around the clock in order to meet the deadline. The resource for those jobs are Boilermakers, of whom I have 24 total available. There are a number of jobs also requiring Boilermakers that will be worked only 6:00 am - 6:00 pm. So what I need to do is have 20 of the boilermakers working the 6 am - 6 pm shift and 4 working 6 pm - 6 am.
Other scheduling packages handle this by utilizing
'shifts' which is almost like a calendar within a calendar.
Any ideas based on my expanded description?
thanks
