can you post a sample for us? Is the submittal an MSDS, which means material safety data sheet? If so, it's a document describing the dangers and precautions one must use when working with the product.

If we could only start writing in all acronyms, we would never have to worry about our readers understanding anything we were trying to convey. But, think of all the ink and electrons we would save in never being understood.
Instead, we save that very important and extremely knowledgeable writer three or four words, then we have forty or fifty readers, if they continue to care to try, spending their working day trying to look up an appropriate meaning out of the fifty possible acronym meanings listed. That’s full employment, without anything getting done, FEWAGD.

Try including the 5 lines before the line with MSS in it and the 5 lines after the line with MSS in it. That might give enough context to make an educated GUESS as to what somebody else had in mind. I hope this example gives many a reason to never use an acronym without explaining what the acronym is short for.
