MS Proj-Filtering Resource Usage report to show only top tasks

I am trying to create an overall resource usage report for a resource pool which shows individual resources and which projects they are working on. The Resource Usage report shows either just the resource or when I open the outline it shows all the tasks. All I want to show is the top tasks, not all the tasks in each project. Is they any way to do this?
