I can't beleive I can't find anything about this....

But how can I move a part file (not in an assy) relative to its origin. ie: say I no longer want the Y axis to be up and down. Now I want the Z axis to be up and down?

Thanks

Insert -> Features -> Move/Copy
Hope this helps.

Three methods;

1) Edit the constraints in the base and subsequent sketches so that they are aligned correctly. Depending how the other features were created, Edit Sketch Plane could also be used. This method is usually the most awkward and time consuming but correctly re-orients the part using the original sketches and planes.

2) Use the Insert > Features > Move/Copy function. (May also be found in the Features toolbar.) This method adds a feature to the FM. See also Help > Index > Move/Copy

3) Create a new Co-ordinate System (Reference Geometry toolbar), then save-as the part to a parasolid format using the option to save the newly created CS as the output co-ordinate system. When the parasolid is opened, the UCS is treated as the origin. This method creates a dumb (featureless) part, but FeatureWorks (if you have it) can be run to recreate the features.
