I've got some views in a drawing that will not move even with the "Lock View Movement" option turned off.

I could add another view but then I have problems adding the BOM balloons as Pro/E says the view is invalid for the BOMs.

Anyone got any ideas?

Sam

Check the projection & alignment. If the view position is constrained to another view you will have to break the constraint. Delete the alignment or if it is projected change to general.

Thanks for the suggestion, but its not solved the problem. The views are not aligned to other views and were just inserted as general views.

It was worth checking though, thank you.

Are the views hi-lighting and showing the move arrows? if not, may just be a filter setting.

Yes, they highlight, I can delete them, just can't move them. The move special does not work either, nor does changing the position from the view properties.

I can move the views in one direction by aligning to another view that is outside the printable area, but if I remove the alignment the view jumps back to its original position. Very strange.

SW - Have you done a "view info". This maytell you something.

I have not tried a "view info", and I can't now because I've deleted the views. I decided to tackle the BOM problem instead, and managed to sort it out this way.

I would still be interested in a solution because it might do the same thing again on a view that I've invested a lot of time in.

Cheers,

Sam

could you post the drawing and model so some of us could have a look.

Are they the section views? If that, I think there are some problems with the sections.

If not, I think there is some problems with your software. I think you can redo the proe set up.

Wish my words can help you!

Yes, they are section views. Is there anything I can do to move them?

Sam

Hello, Sam, You can try to creat one new section view, the general section view. Then try to move them. If you success, you can delete the old section view.

Wish my words can help you.
