I have recently encountered a situation where, I need to mount some sort of mounting pad on equipment for vibration anaylsis. The type of monitor we are going to use has a temp. probe in the middle, so we can't use pads that have holes. We plan to epoxy the pads to the mounting surface. Any info would be appreciated.

We manufacture accessories for mounting sensors. We also custom make items for unique applications. For standard accessories, check out - for custom solutions, please give me a call at 800-899-2241.

I make my own mounting pads out of austenitic stainless steel (ordinary stainless is not magnetic). Make sure that you machine the upper surface to a fine finish for accel mounting but machine the down side as a "gramaphone" finish so that the epoxy has something to bond to. I usually drill and tap a 1/4" 28 hole for mounting the accels but if you are only using a magnet you don't need this. Make sure that the machine surface that you are mounting on is clean and dry and free from grease.
