Dear all

What exactly the purposes of Monolithic Isolation Joint (MIJ) in Pipeline, is it effectively used in buried pipeline condition? Is the using of MIJ reduces the using of CP (cathodic Protection) at pipeline e.g Anode installation to prevent corrosion?

Is there also can substitute the using of Block valves to isolate pipelines , if there any leak occur?

Appreciate for your response

Thanks
Regards,
ZA

ZA,

It seems you have a lot to learn.

CP works by having a negative voltage. If you don't electrically isolate the pipeline that voltage leaks away to earth and hence doesn't work properly.

I don't understand your question about the valves.

You cannot use valves to isolate a pipeline. That can be accomplished through the use of MIJs or flange isolation kits. Flange isolation kits can be used on a flanged valve.
