I need to have any idea of the welding parameters to weld a 304L plate using monel filler 60 (or 67).Or any parameter that you have used with similar materials. The welding proccess is GTAW.

thanks

What are you welding plate, tube, bar.
What size are you using.

Argon doesn't get as hot as Helium. So
your amps will be set lower. If you do
a purge 2 to 3 seconds before and about
5 seconds after.

The thickness of the two materials will
also tell you your tungsten rod size and
size of filler metal to use.

Ex. 0.25" material you can use a rod size
of approximately 0.13"

0.06" material you would use a 0.03"
rod size

hope that helps

The particular case is the following:
Groove weld plate horizontal (1G AWS), thickness 1/4 in., GTAW 100%Argon.

excuse me for asking but, why monel filler for type 304?

the reason is because we are looking for a welding procedure with free Cr+6 fume emision. We think if we control de dilution during the welding, then we can reduce the Cr+6 emision produced by type 304 SS, which affects the healt.

pulsed inverter will lower the fumes considerably also.
