When I ask for a measure for the moment in a pin connection, I am finding that that value depends upon the placement of the translation plane from which the body was placed, and has nothing to do with its distance from a pin joint. I wished someone from PTC would explain the rationale here! I am trying to due a "balance" calculation using a pin joint, and need to understand the logic involved.

Thanks for any help. I would think this is an issue many of you have experienced. Obviously I am missing the boat.

I should mention that when you do a force balance with a locked pin joint, the moment shown makes sense. It's when you perform a rotational balance that the moment doesn't equal a hand calculation. And I am using just 1 bore.
